Interview about my Smart Challenge experience
You are an Investment Analyst for more than a year. Can you share with potential Smart Deal participants what you are currently working on?
I’m currently a member of the Fortuna and Aero Vodochody team, earlier I was also involved with the Penta healthcare team. This year I have been working on a new healthcare investment as well as expansion, regulation, and strategic partnerships in my other projects.
Who do you work with and how would you describe your development since you have joined Penta?
There are three groups of people I cooperate closely with: 1) Investment professionals from Penta assigned to the given project ranging from Investment Analysts to Partners 2) Top and middle management of investee companies 3) Advisors consulting Penta on a variety of topics such as regulation, due diligence, and industry-specific issues.
I have learned a lot. Both professionally and personally. I was privileged to encounter some very smart and collaborative team members. Yogi Berra says “you can observe a lot by watching”, so I try to keep my eyes open. Certainly, there is more to learn going forward.
We can imagine you as an Investment Analyst working hard on projects you are assigned to. On the other hand, how do you relax and recharge your batteries?
Sports and reading are the best way to recharge for me. I just returned from a surfing trip in Asia. It was very energizing.
How have you felt about being awarded in the internal newsletter by Penta partners?
It is nice to be recognized. It is even nicer to work with a team that enables recognition.
What do you consider to be the most important area to work on when thinking about you as a future Investment Manager?
It is worth the effort. The first round is more of a fun; a combination of logical, numerical, and basic knowledge tests and does not require any prior preparation. Anyway, if you make it to the second round, be prepared to the entire time you would be given in order to prepare all required materials in decent quality.
